Magnetics Society Events at IEDM

Technically sponsored by the IEEE Magnetics Society, two IEEE Magnetics Society events will be held at IEDM 2023
With the rising interest of the microelectronics industry for STT-MRAM, it is very important to strengthen the relationship between the microelectronics and magnetism communities since this technology requires expertise from both areas. Along this line, two special events related to MRAM technology are being organized around IEDM 2023 by the IEEE Magnetics Society. IEDM is the main annual conference of the IEEE Electron Devices Society. These events will be organized in-person.

1. The 15th MRAM Global Innovation Forum - Hilton Union Square, 14 Dec 2023

The Forum will consist of 10 invited talks from leading experts, and a panel discussion. Various MRAM related topics will be covered including STT-MRAM technology deployment for embedded and standalone memories, trends, and the needs, challenges and potential of future MRAM. This 15th edition of the Forum, originally initiated by Samsung Semiconductor in 2013, celebrate this year its 10th anniversary.

The number of attendees to the Forum will be limited to 250 participants. Please register to the Forum by 20 November 2023. A confirmation email will be sent to you upon successful registration.

2. A special poster session during IEDM dedicated to MRAM

This event will take place in Exhibit Hall (Yosemite) on Tuesday, December 12 from 2:20pm-5:30pm.

Various topics will be covered including MRAM materials, phenomena, technology, testing, hybrid CMOS/MTJ technology and circuits, spin-logic. This session is technically organized by the IEEE Magnetics Society. It will appear as a special MRAM poster session embedded in the IEDM conference.

We strongly encourage teams involved in MRAM R&D to present posters related to MRAM, spintronic circuits or spin logic during this special poster session. The posters will be selected by an international program committee formed by members of the IEEE Magnetics Society. To present a poster, send a max one-page abstract to kevin.garello@cea.fr with the subject “IEDM MRAM poster 2023”. Participants to this poster session will have to register for IEDM as regular attendees. There will be no publications in the Proceedings of IEDM.

Poster submission deadline: October 30th, 2023 Poster acceptance notification: November 6th, 2023.
